The Red Sox get outstanding performances by David Price, Nathan Eovaldi, and a bunch of unsung heroes at the plate to overpower the Dodgers. The Dodgers battled in every game, but we look at how bad clutch hitting, horrible in game management, and other disappointments undermined their bid for their first championship since 1988.
Later we look at what's to come for both franchises. A look at impending free agents on either side, plus Dave runs down why the Dodgers are closer to that elusive championship than everybody thinks. First, we cover the Red Sox unlikely blowout five game ALCS win over the Astros. Next, we cover a very strange but exciting and dramatic Dodgers seven game series win over the Brewers. Fidz (Ari) digs into the improbable performances by the Red Sox bullpen and David Price. Dave will break down the redeeming moments for Cody Bellinger, Yasiel Puig, and Clayton Kershaw. Likewise, the crew looks at the Wade Miley one batter "start" in Game 5 and other questionable decisions by manager Craig Counsell. What made regular season beasts like Christian Yelich and Jesus Aguilar struggle in the postseason? From the ALCS, were the Astros injuries to Carlos Correa and Jose Altuve too much to overcome? How did the Red Sox defeat the Astros' impressive rotation including Justin Verlander in Game 5? Later, we look ahead to the World Series with our previews and predictions. The Dodgers and Red Sox are about to meet for the first time since 1916. We also will look back late in the show to the Yankees shortcomings and Gerry runs down what went wrong in their postseason.
