NOT Canadian Karen, Wimbledon, Lakers Offseason (07-08-15)

Canadian Karen was originally scheduled to join this week's show but there was a scheduling conflict.  Instead, Dave runs down the Lakers underwhelming but not quite disappointing offseason.  The Lakers missed on LaMarcus Aldridge and DeAndre Jordan, but managed to recover with Brandon Bass, Lou Williams (the sixth man of the year), and a deal with center Roy Hibbert.   We'll dig into the potential matchups at Wimbledon with Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova on track to meet each other for the final round.  On the men's side, Novak Djokovic tries to repeat as champion as he advances to the quarters.

Podcast: Ducks, Rangers Game 7s, 2015 NBA Finals: Cavs vs Warriors, Lakers Trade Rumor (06-02-15)

This week, we'll look at two NHL Game 7's that ended not so well for the Rangers and Ducks.  Mike Walters of the "Ducks N Pucks" podcast at chats about the Anaheim Ducks' series with the Blackhawks in the NHL Western Conference Final, preceded by Keith in CT to offer the New York Rangers' series recap in Hour 1. The Rangers lose their grip on offense at home against the Lightning and get shut out, while the Blackhawks scored early and often to fairly quickly put away the Ducks in Anaheim.  What led two Number One seeded teams to a 7th game exit?

In Hour 2, it's our first look at the NBA Finals between the exciting Golden State Warriors and the Lebron led Cleveland Cavaliers.  Tom in NJ and Andy in Seattle return to break down two very interesting teams although one of them, the Cavs is beat up.  Kyrie Irving is battling his physical pain to win his first NBA Finals.   The Warriors aren't without injuries, however, as shooting guard Klay Thompson battled concussion symptoms but passed concussion protocol to get the start in Game 1. Tom and Andy join Dave to look at all the matchups, plus some speculation on a rumored Lakers/Kings trade sending the #2 Draft pick in exchange for star forward DeMarcus Cousins.   Is that worth the risk for both teams?  Also assorted other sports topics including American Pharoah's bid for a Triple Crown at the Belmont Stakes.

Podcast: Warriors Make NBA Finals, Blackhawks, Rangers Force Game 7's (05-28-15)

Despite battling scary head injuries, both Klay Thompson and Steph Curry lead the Golden State Warriors to a clinching Game 5 win and the Warriors first trip to the NBA Finals since 1975.  Dave looks at how the Warriors' strong shooting and roster depth put them into a resounding series win against the Rockets and James Harden's efforts.   What was lacking from the rest of the Rockets, Dwight Howard, Trevor Ariza, and the others?   We then look ahead to this year's NBA Finals between the Warriors and the LeBron James led Cleveland Cavaliers, plus we look at the NHL Stanley Cup Conference Final Game 7's in Hour 2.  The Blackhawks force the Ducks into a Game 7 in Anaheim, and the Rangers force the Tampa Bay Lightning into a Game 7 up in New York.   A most epic, impressive, exciting series so far for the West Final between the Hawks and Ducks... what were the best moments of a spectacular 2015 West Final in the NHL?   Game 4 goes into Double OT, Game 5 goes into single OT after the Blackhawks improbably tied it up down two with just 2 minutes left, only to lose to the Ducks in the OT.   Game 6 showed mettle from the Blackhawks who responded greatly with big goals from Andrew Shaw and Marian Hossa to force the winner take all Game 7.  How about Derek Brassard scoring a hat trick in a wacky 3rd period for the Rangers leading NY to a blowout 7-3 win in Tampa Bay?  All this and more as we cover a big week in sports -- we may hear from the Junk Man on the road with his food truck tour plus much more from MLB on a most action packed DITCOW.
