NBA Finals; US Open Golf Recap; NHL; Random Qs (06-19-13)

On our Final "Dave in the City" podcast from West Los Angeles, we cover the ongoing NBA Finals...  what's to come for the prospective Game 7 between the Spurs and Heat?   Can the Spurs "six-gun" shooters stay hot from three point land or will LeBron, Bosh, and the renewed Wade take over and win it all?  PLUS John in CT and Mike in North NJ converse with Dave on the US Open Championship in Golf.   We'll look at the year's very tough course at Merion Golf Club, Justin Rose's emotional win, Phil MIckelson's shortcomings at the green preceded by a record 67 in Round 1, plus much more.  Then, a very short look at the NHL's Stanley Cup Final so far.  Lastly, in Hour 2, Kevin on the Cape joins Dave to reminisce about the "LA Years" as Dave prepares for a move down the road to Santa Monica.  NOTE: No show next week on 6/26.

Puig the Phenom; NBA Finals Preview; Random Qs (06-05-13)

This week: Yasiel Puig makes his breathtaking Dodgers debut, with two phenomenal games, including his first ever hit, an outfield assist to end a game, then TWO home runs in his next game.  Could this be the beginning of a big career for the Dodger rookie?  PLUS and NBA Finals preview -- the Spurs meet the Heat after a few days of rest.  Will the Spurs and Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli, and Tony Parker, be able to keep up with the Heat featuring LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh?   Will the Heat be more vulnerable thatn we previously thought?  Then in Hour 2, Kevin on the Cape returns for "Random Questions."

NHL Game 7's; Heat/Pacers; Kings; Random Qs (05-29-13)

Big show tonight on a special ONE HOUR "Dave in the City,"  We'll offer postgame analysis for the Red Wings/Blackhawks Game 7 PLUS a recap of the Kings a captivating Game 7 win against the Sharks in the Semifinals.   Now to see what the Kings have left after the Sharks threw everything they had at Jonathan Quick and the Kings.    AND pressure from the Indiana Pacers?  The Pacers tie the series at 2-2 after another big effort from George, Hibbert, Stephenson, and company.  Are Miami James and the Heat now on their heels?  Random Questions with Kevin on the Cape will follow an abbreviated monologue all within the hour.  Note: The later start time will allow some overrun for tonight's program if necessary, meaning we can go past Midnight ET.

Sharks Tie Up Kings; NHL; Random Qs (05-22-13)

This week on the show: More from the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the San Jose Sharks, who Dave wrote off two weeks ago.  The Sharks battled the Kings and got back to back home wins to nod up the series at 2-2.   Can the Kings recover and re-take control back home in Thursday's Game 5?  PLUS more from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and Kevin on the Cap with "Random Questions" in Hour 2.

Sharks/Kings; NHL; NBA; Random Q's (05-15-13)

This week: we look at the ongoing, unlikely matchup of the San Jose Sharks vs the LA Kings in the Stanley Cup West Semifinal.   How did the Sharks pull the less than likely sweep of the Vancouver Canucks, and what will the Kings have left after a grueling series with the St. Louis Blues that ended with six one-goal games?   An exciting rivalry between Nor Cal and SoCal continues into the playoffs.  What went wrong for the Anaheim Ducks?  That and more from the NHL with the return of "Hockey Maestro" Alex from San Jose.  Then, in Hour 2, Kevin on the Cape re-joins Dave for "Random Questions" and a potentially new world as Kevin starts life with his new iPad Mini.

Sharks Bite Canucks; NHL; NBA; Random Qs (05-07-13)

NBA Playoffs Talk; NHL Qtrs.; Random Q's (05-01-13)

Tonight we chat, hopefully with Oomer in Rockland, about the ongoing NBA Playoffs.  We'll cover the first round matchups so far, the plummeting LA Clippers against Memphis, the smoldering train wreck that is the Lakers, the Knicks impending elimination of the Celtics, the Heat's tune up against Milwaukee and then a look at the potential second round matchups: San Antonio vs either Golden State or Denver, then Oklahoma City vs either Memphis or the Clippers.  Much to cover PLUS some quick thoughts on the Stanley Cup playoffs so far, the Kings devastating loss at St. Louis in Overtime, and in Hour 2, Kevin on the Cape with "Random Questions."

NFL Draft Preview; Mock Draft; Random Qs (04-24-13)

This week:  Ron in NJ and "PrettyTony" join Dave for a Mock Draft of the first 20 picks of the NFL Draft.  We'll see where Kansas City weighs in, along with the Jaguars, Raiders, Eagles,  Browns, Cardinals, and much more.  PLUS News on Darelle Revis' trade to Tampa Bay.  Where does it put both the Jets and Bucs?  In Hour 2, Kevin on the Cape joins Dave for a spring-time "Random Questions" where we cover the NBA Playoffs, Boston's Recovery in the Wake of the Marathon Bombing last Monday, and more.

Louisville wins NCAA; Yankees; NBA; Random Q's (04-10-13)

Final Four Roundtable; NBA; Random Q's (04-03-13)

John in CT and Chris in Syracuse join Dave for a Final Four Roundtable, covering this weekend's Final Four games and the recent NCAA Coaching hires:  UCLA's hire of New Mexico's Steve Alford, Texas Tech's hire of Tubby Smith, and in a minor surprise, USC's signing of Media Sensation FGCU's Andy Enfield.  What could all three coaches add to the already exciting college basketball landscape and how will these moves affect college basketball in Los Angeles?  PLUS the Final Four itself in Atlanta, featuring Overall #1 Louisville, a team on a mission fighting for their team mate Kevin Ware who suffered a devastating Leg Injury in the Elite 8.   Wichita State, a team that everyone forgot, firing from long range and taking down several big teams in the process is also in the big dance.   Then, we look at the showcase game fo the Final Four: Syracuse vs Michigan.  Two teams who struggled throughout the regular season, then caught fire in the tournament.  How did both teams get there?  Who wins?  Much to cover in our College Basketball Roundtable THEN Kevin on the Cape and Random Questions in Hour 2.
