Ron, John, Andy, Junkie, and Dave recap a positively chaotic Saturday in College Football featuring big upsets by Marshall and Appalachian State over Notre Dame and Texas A&M. We also saw a thrilling finish in Austin between Alabama and Texas where things got away from the Longhorns in their near-upset of the Crimson Tide.
Later, we cover an exciting opening week in the NFL, featuring the Giants unlikely upset of the Titans, the Seahawks upsetting their former QB Russ Wilson and the Broncos, and a great game between the Raiders and Chargers. Then it's on to our picks from both sports, plus some coverage of Scott Frost's predictable, although sudden, firing from Nebraska.

We'll pick two of our favorite bets from college football this week and preview all the games to come, plus quick recap of the week zero action several days ago. Among the big games in College Week 1 is Notre Dame/Ohio State.
Later, time permitting, we'll look ahead to the NFL season and talk about some season storylines, plus other potpourri.

Gerry Will and Andy in Seattle join in to recap what was a very exciting MLB Trade Deadline. The Yankees don't get Juan Soto as many expected, but they land a batter in Andrew Bennintendi, pitcher Frankie Montas, and many other solid players. Juan Soto instead goes to the Padres, who will also have team control of Soto for two more seasons. The crew will break down all the notable moves across MLB and how they will fuel a potential second half for some contenders.
We'll also cover the legacy of Vin Scully who died on Tuesday at the age of 94. He was truly a great of greats, and arguably the best baseball announcer of all time. He also was an incredible human with an amazing life. Gerry, Andy, and Dave will share their stories of great Vin Scully moments. A mid-season baseball recap to set up the playoff changes in August and September.

John, Mike, and Andy are back for a recap of a thrilling Open Championship from the home of golf, St. Andrews on the 150th playing of the Open. Cam Smith edged out Rory McIroy on the final round after an absurdly good run of consecutive birdies and key putts to save par. The crew chat about Cam's once-in-a-lifetime performance in Scotland and break down the extremely competitive field. How will McIroy cope with the frustration of playing so well and still losing? Will Cam be back with more majors in his near future as well? Plus: Tiger's presumed last moment at St. Andrews, solid runs for both Cam Young and Viktor Hovland, and a look at this week's surprises and disappointments. The decent performances by now-LIV members Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, and others are also a topic: do they signal a larger migration of pro golf to the upstart, albeit dubious, competing tour? The panel cover the massive power shift between both conferences and how it would spell certain doom for the Pac 12 as a Power Five conference. Is the Big Ten suddenly the best conference in football or is it still the SEC? Will the proposed four super conference model now be a reality? John and Mike are back to recap a thrilling U.S. Open from Brookline, MA. Andy in Seattle may join in as well, and we'll cover Matt Fitzpatrick's narrow victory after a putt by runner-up Will Zalatoris on 18 to tie misses by an inch. We'll also look at other big players from this weekend's action including the year's hot starter Scottie Scheffler, the recently surging Rory McIlroy who had a big setback on Sunday, and Jon Rahm, who had a solid defense of his U.S. Open title but struggled to keep the ball in the fairway on his final round.
After our coverage of the U.S. Open, we'll keep the golf panel on the show to cover the newly started LIV Tour overseas. The Saudi-funded tour got a number of big names, most recently Brooks Koepka who announced his move to the tour on Monday. We'll also cover Sir Nick Faldo's announcement of retirement from full-time broadcasting between CBS and Golf Channel. Where does the PGA Tour go from here? That plus a look-ahead to upcoming events and a quick preview of golf's return to St. Andrew's for the Open Championship next month.
